Migration Corridor Management Listening Session in Pinedale with Governor Mark Gordon

Saturday

Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon will stop in Pinedale on Saturday as part of a four-town tour to share details and answer questions related to his Migration Corridor Executive Order. His tour today will include stops in Rawlins, Pinedale, Kemmerer and Rock Springs. In each community, he will engage with residents and local officials about the proposed Executive Order, which is intended to create a state-led approach to support conservation with multiple-use opportunities. He will be in Pinedale from 10-11 am, at Sublette BOCES, 665 N. Tyler Ave.

The Big Piney/Marbleton Mushers Banquet will be Monday evening at 6PM in the Southwest Sublette County Pioneers Senior Center in Marbleton. The Big Piney/Marbleton Stage race will start at 9AM in the Middle Piney drainage of the Wyoming Range. From Big Piney, racers head to Lander. Winter races in the Wind River Mountains of western Wyoming. Racers may ski, bike, or run on the marked, snow-covered groomed trail. For 2020, there will be a 13-mile half-marathon, a 28-mile marathon, and a 100-mile ultramarathon. Racers may ski, bike, or run on the marked, snow-covered groomed trail. 30: Roaring 20s Dance Class Thursday, at 6 pm in the Lovatt Room of the Pinedale Library. Happy New Year... the 20s are back! Learn to dance the Charleston during this one-night class especially for beginners. The class will be taught by Jenn Burton. No partner is required... bring friends instead, and wear 1920s flapper attire if you like.

1: Pinedale High School Alpine Ski Races Alpine Ski teams from around the state will be at White Pine for the Pinedale High School Invitational Ski Race. Competing will be racers from Casper, Cody, Jackson, Laramie and Pinedale High Schools. Racers participate in both Giant Slalom and Slalom Races on Friday and Saturday. Course will be set up on Wind River which will be the only run that is closed on both days. Skiing Spectators can utilize the $9 "Single Ride" lift ticket to the top and ski down to the Start Line or anywhere on the course.

2: Pinedale Stage Stop of the Pedigree Stage Stop Race The race runs through February 8th. The Pinedale Stage Stop will be in the Upper Green starting at 9AM. 3: Freestyle Relay Bring any gear, teams of two will compete in a traditional relay on a short course. BYOB - Bring Your Own Baton. Part of the Cabin Fever Nordic Ski Race series. Will be held at the Nordic warming hut at White Pine ski area near Pinedale. Register day of race at warming hut between 8:00 and 9:45. Race starts 10:00 sharp. All ages welcome, there will be a race for children as well. Cost is by donation – all proceeds go towards the awards ceremony. Rental equipment available at the Great Outdoor Shop in Pinedale. 7: Sublette County School District #1 Community Coffee Join SCSD 1 School Board Chairman Jamison Ziegler and Superintendent Jay Harnack for coffee, hot chocolate and rolls. The Community Coffee is a great way to meet and get information from key administrators and Board of Education members on issues that impact SCSD 1. Attendees "set" the agenda with their questions. 12: Vision Boards Workshop in Pinedale Wednesday at Pinedale Arts & Crafts, 20 W Pine Street from 5:30 to 7:30PM. Pinedale Arts & Crafts’ staff will lead participants on the mindful journey of identifying and visualizing the goals you’ve set for yourself in an artistic and fun way. Vision Boards are visual representations of the things you want to have in your life. By focusing your mind on these things, you can see new ways to achieve these goals. All supplies are provided. The winning artist is awarded $500. This project is sponsored in part by the Wyoming Business Council and the Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund, a program of the Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources.

Sublette County artists, quilters, poets, storytellers, essayists and musicians are invited to contribute to this community art show at the Pinedale Library. The exhibit theme is The Artist's Vision of Wyoming the Equality State. The Art Show will be on March 2nd, artwork will be on display in the Library through the month of March. More info
2: Deadline for Letters of Interest for the vacant Pinedale Town Council seat The vacancy is due to the resignation of Councilman John Paravicini. The opening will be filled by appointment by the Pinedale Town Council. Anyone interested should submit their letter of interest and a list of their qualifications to the Pinedale Town Clerk by 4:00PM today. Letters of interests and lists of qualifications may be mailed to Town of Pinedale, P.O. Box 709, Pinedale, WY 82941. Sufficient time should be allowed to allow receipt by the Town Clerk by the cutoff date above. Interested parties must reside within the Town limits and be a registered voter of the Town of Pinedale and the State of Wyoming to be considered eligible. Applications will be considered at the Monday, March 9 Pinedale Town Council meeting starting at 4:00 in the Commissioner’s Room of the Sublette County Courthouse; 21 South Tyler Avenue in Pinedale.

7: Flamingo Cup Ski Race At White Pine Ski Area. Sponsored by the Sublette County Ski & Snowboard Association.
7 & 8: Ice Fishing Derby on Fremont Lake Hosted by the Pinedale Lions Club. Two-day fishing event features over $7,000 in cash and prizes. Online pre-registration will be available via the Pinedale Lions Club Facebook page. In-person pre- registration will take place at Rendezvous Meadows Club House in Pinedale on Friday, March 6 from 6:00 – 9:00pm and at the lake after 6am each morning. ALL participants MUST check in at Lakeside Lodge before fishing to receive a derby ticket. No pets or passenger vehicles will be allowed on the ice. Parking is always a challenge, so carpooling is strongly encouraged

Lots of free living history programs at the Museum of the Mountain Man. Nightly rodeos. Parade in Pinedale. Elaborate Rendezvous Pageant on Sunday. Much more. More info
12: Rendezvous Pageant Sunday at 1:00PM at the Rendezvous grounds (behind the rodeo grounds on the hill just south of Pinedale). Elaborate program telling the story of Rendezvous. Put on by a huge cast of locals playing the role of historical figures and with a narrator telling the story. Horses, wagons, tipis, mountain men, much more. Action filled display. There is a small admission fee. The Pinedale Lions Club serves a great lunch.
