Fisherman Creek Complex fires
Fires burning near Bondurant are hoped to be called contained either today or tomorrow. The Fisherman Creek Complex, composed of the Fisherman and Buck Creek fires, is currently at about 425 acres. Presently there are 6 helicopters, 12 engines, 210 firefighting crews and a Type I Team on these fires. Although the Hoback Ranches homes are inbetween the two fires, none are immediately threatened at this time. Emergency notification and evacuation plans are in place, coordinated with the Sublette County Sheriff's Office and Search & Rescue, in case the situation changes or new fires begin in this area. A public meeting is scheduled for tonight at 8 pm at the Hoback Guard Station near Bondurant for interested community members. Greys River Complex fires
Multiple fires in the Greys River area in the northern Wyoming range make up this complex. Fires were started by a lightning storm that came through on July 4th. A Type II Team currently manages this fire with 2 Type II helicopters, 7 Type II engines, 9 Type II crews and 4 Type I hand crews. The fire is approximately 200 acres in size and is being called 20% contained. There is no estimated date of containment yet. The Broyles Type II Interagency Incident Management Team from the Great Basin Idaho Zone is currently managing this fire. It includes the Deer Creek, Fawn, Murphy Lake, Lost Creek and Little Blind fires.

Fire fighters continue to patrol the Greys River drainage by air and ground checking for new and hold-over fires that may pop up. Agencies cooperating in this fire fighting effort include the National Park Service, the Idaho Department of State Lands, the Bureau of Land Management, US Fish & Wildlife Service, Lincoln County, and Bridger-Teton National Forest.

Where can you go to hike and camp?
So far no fires are burning in the Wind River Mountains. Green River Lakes, New Fork, Fremont, Elkhart, Boulder, and Big Sandy areas are all good for camping. The lower Wyoming range, Cottonwood and Piney Creeks, ok too, but be alert for smokes and potential new fires.

Be aware that there is both black and grizzly bear activity in these areas, and bears (blacks) are becoming more bold by coming into camps to try and get food. A black bear has been seen at Fremont Lake Campground and up by Photographer's Point. Be sure to practice clean camping and use bear-proof food containers where they are available. Lightweight, portable bear-proof containers (about the size of a small barrel) are available for rent from the Forest Service. These have a $25 refundable deposit and cost is by free-will donation, with the money going back into the bear fund. Please report any bear sightings.
