Wreath and Chocolate Auction a big success
Fundraiser for the Museum of the Mountain Man

Last Friday night’s annual Wreath Auction fundraiser for the Museum of the Mountain Man was a success for both the Museum and for Rendezvous Pointe, Pinedale’s brand new senior center and community facility.
According to the Museum’s Millie Pape, the fundraiser brought in about $7200, a little less than the previous year’s fundraiser but still a good amount. Laurie LaMere’s super-sized wreath based on a big metal star, created on behalf of LaMere Concrete, brought the highest live auction bid. In the silent auction, a tall, rich-looking chocolate cake topped with candy canes, created by Carla Sullivan of Boulder, brought the highest bid. The People’s Choice Award was shared between the LaMere Concrete wreath and Kay Malkowski’s decorated horse’s breast collar, created on behalf of Kay’s business, Wagons A+Cross Wyoming
This was the first time the event had been held at Rendezvous Pointe. "We loved the new venue," said Mrs. Pape. "It’s a great community space and it will get a lot of use. I’m grateful for the foresight of our county commissioners in planning this building."
Faler's provided tasty refreshments for the event.
Kathy Lee and Moose Creek Catering were instrumental in decorating the room. "Kathy and her staff did a fantastic job," said Mrs. Pape. "The room was just beautiful."
Because Ms. Lee will soon be catering the Christmas party for EnCana Oil & Gas, Inc. at Rendezvous Pointe, she and her staff decided to go ahead and decorate a little early so the Wreath Auction could benefit from the beautiful lights and holiday setting. EnCana offered to purchase all new decorations, and will donate them to Rendezvous Pointe, so that the center can enjoy them throughout the season and use them again.
The Museum would like to extend kudos and many thanks to everyone who donated, purchased or worked to support the Wreath and Chocolate Auction. Your help matters very much!
