February 28, 2005
A new club, the Sublette Barrel Racing Club, will be meeting on Tuesday, March 1st, to finalize officers and put together volunteer committees. The meeting will be at 6 pm in the concession room of the indoor barn at the Sublette County Ag Center north of Big Piney.
According to club member Shelly McAdams, the club is open to all ages and levels of ability. It is aimed towards involving youth riders and seasoning young horses. The club will sponsor barrel races at the county Ag Center every Tuesday evening from May - July. The cost to run will be a minimal $5. Next year the club plans to form a nonprofit organizaiton. They want to use this year as a pilot to see what kind of interest there is in the county for the club.
All members, including kids, are welcome and encouraged to attend the meetings. The volunteer committees will be working on developing the rules, getting awards, and fund raising. For more information, contact Shelly McAdams 307-859-8858 or Sandy McGinnis 307-276-3811.
