Snowmobiler killed in Upper Green

A Pennsylvania man was killed on Monday, February 28, while snowmobiling along the Continental Divide Snowmobile Trail in the Upper Green area. The man had been sledding with four friends when the accident occurred.
According to a news release from the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office, at one point during the trip the man suffered severe internal injuries when one of his friends collided with him. Attempts to give CPR by his friends were unsuccessful. Sublette County Sheriff’s office personnel responded, along with Emergency Medical Services and Tip Top Search and Rescue members.
The accident occurred 17 miles up the Continental Divide Snowmobile Trail from the Upper Green trailhead. The man, Mervin Beiler, was from New Holland, Pennsylvania. Mr. Beiler's body was taken to Hudson's Funeral Home in Pinedale. A complete investigation was performed by the Sheriff’s office and no signs of foul play were indicated.
