Snow Advisory
3-6 inches of snow possible by Thursday

The National Weather Service out of Riverton has issued a Snow Advisory for southern and central Wyoming for Wednesday through Thursday night. Rain will change to snow below 7500 feet this evening with snow becoming heavy at times.

The heaviest snowfall is expected over the Wind River Mountains and surrounding foothills Wednesday through Thursday morning. Several inches of snow is expected from Bondurant to Boulder, Pinedale and continue south. By Thursday, snowfall is expected to shift south into Sweetwater County and along Interstate 80 east of Rock Springs.

This storm may bring 3-6 inches of new snow to the Green River Valley floor and 6-12 inches in the Wind River Mountains. Anyone traveling the I-80 corridor is advised to monitor weather stations for developing news on this storm system. This is a strong and unseasonably cold spring storm which will affect the Upper Green River Valley, the foothills of the Wind River Mountains and south along Interstate 80 through Thursday morning.

The long-range forecast is for snow showers to continue for through the weekend, although daytime temperatures will be 40s. It will be mostly cloudy with breezy conditions through the weekend. Snow will turn to rain by next Monday and Tuesday as the storm system moves through and temperatures warm into the 50s.

Weather forecast:
Wednesday: Occasional snow. Some thunder is also possible. Low near 28. West northwest wind between 9 and 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Thursday: Snow likely. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly sunny, with a high around 40. North northwest wind 9 to 14 mph becoming south. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of snow. Partly cloudy, with a low around 22. North northwest wind 5 to 8 mph increasing to between 14 and 17 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Friday: A 30 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. Breezy, with a northwest wind 11 to 14 mph increasing to between 21 and 24 mph. Winds could gust as high as 37 mph.
Friday Night: A 40 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 20 to 23 mph decreasing to between 8 and 11 mph. Winds could gust as high as 34 mph.

Saturday: A 40 percent chance of snow showers. Partly cloudy, with a high around 45.
Saturday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low near 21.

Sunday: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 46.
Sunday Night: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25.

Monday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 52.
Monday Night: A slight chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28.

Tuesday: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high around 54.
Tuesday Night: A slight chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low near 30.

Wednesday: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high around 54.
