The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is moving forward with a proposal to lower the speed limit through Pinedale. The agency was approached by the Pinedale Town Council to lower the speed limit in town from 30 mph to 25 mph for safety reasons. Speed limits along the west end of town will also be modified. The Town sent WYDOT a formal request to make the change.

Under the proposed changes, downtown Pinedale speed limit along Hwy 191 would be 25 mph from Fremont Lake Road on the east side to the American Legion Park on the west end. The speed limit from the American Legion Park west to the VFW Post would be 30 mph, and from the VFW to Ehman Lane would be 45 mph. New signs will be posted showing the change.
