Deer Warning Flashers
September 28, 2005
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) recently installed wildlife warning signs along Highway 191 west of Pinedale near Trappers Point and the Cora turn-off.
This is a geographical location that funnels deer and antelope into a relatively narrow corridor to cross the highway.
Sensors have been placed along both sides of the highway. When an animal breaks the beam between the sensors, flashing lights are triggered on the series of signs on both sides of the highway to warn motorists of animals near the road.
The warning lights will be operational sometime after mid-October, according to WYDOT.
