No Boulder VFD Open House this year
Lack of volunteer members and time constraints
September 2, 2005
For the past twenty years, the Boulder Volunteer Fire Department has held their annual Open House/Fundraiser and community BBQ picnic each year in September as a social gathering and to thank the community for their support. This year, however, the long tradition will end and there will be no BVFD Open House.
According to volunteer fireman Randy Bolgiano, the Fire Company roster has shrunk so small, and aged, as to be too much of an effort to organize the event. "The really discouraging point here is that Boulder area fire protection is inadequate at this time," he said. Boulder is a tiny ranching community of about 75 residents about eleven miles south of Pinedale on U.S. Highway 191.
The group would welcome fresh volunteers who would be interested in joining their volunteer fire department, and any donations to their operations. For more information, contact Randy at 307-537-5280.
