More Summer events lining up

There are a lot of events planned for spring and summer 2006, and dates & schedules are starting to come together. Here’s what we have so far on the major events. Check back on our year-round Calendar of Events for the latest updates. Be sure to make your lodging reservations as soon as possible for July and August time-frame events. Things book up well in advance. Some campgrounds units are available for reservation, the rest are first-come, first serve. March 4-5: Pinedale Boat Club Big Fish Winter Derby on Fremont Lake Saturday 7 am to 4 pm, Sunday 7 am to 2 pm. Headquarters is Lakeside Lodge.
March 9: Sublette County Historical Society/Museum of the Mountain Man annual meeting and "Spring Thaw Party" Dinner, drinks, program. Public welcome, 6 pm, Museum of the Mountain Man.
April 1: Aniel Daniel Chili Cookoff and Cake Auction At the historic Daniel Schoolhouse and Community Center. Red & green chili recipes. Free admission to the public. Dinner and cake auction after chili judging.
April 1: McKenzie Hartwig Volleyball Tournament Pinedale Middle School Gym, starts at 9 am.
April 8: Hardhats & Stetsons Fundraiser for the Green River Valley Museum in Big Piney, 6 pm. Tickets $10 at the door or from local stores.
May 16-18: Living History Days At the Museum of the Mountain Man.
June 18: Father's Day Fishing Derby on Fremont Lake Sponsored by the Pinedale Boat Club. Derby headquarters at Lakeside Lodge. Derby 7 am - 4 pm.
July 1-4: Big Piney Chuckwagon Days Little Buckaroo Rodeo, Day Rodeo, Chuckwagon Days Rodeo, parade, 4th of July fireworks in Big Piney. Big Piney high school reunion events (picnic, dance). More info to be announced.
July 6-9: Green River Rendezvous In Pinedale. Living history demonstrations, parade, craft fair, American Mountain Men, Trader's Row, Rendezvous Pageant. (Make your lodging reservations ASAP!)
July 8: Rendezvous Ramble
July 16: Daniel Old Timer's Picnic At the historic Daniel Schoolhouse and Community Center! The Daniel Community Center will provide meat, potatoes, beans, bread and drinks. Bring a dessert or salad, and your musical instrument if you want to jam!
August 19-20: Pinedale Blues Festival Pinedale Rodeo Grounds
August 12-13: Sailing Regatta on Fremont Lake Sponsored by the Pinedale Boat Club. Race headquarters at Lakeside Lodge.
September 23: Pinedale Half Marathon 10K and 1 mile
