Logging to begin at Scab Creek Campground
Campground may be closed for most of summer
July 10, 2006
Logging operations will begin soon at the Scab Creek BLM Campground to remove trees killed due to beetle infestations. Scab Creek Campground is located 15 miles northeast of Boulder providing access to the middle portion of the Wind River Mountain Range and Bridger Wilderness.
Tree removal operations are expected to continue through most of the summer.
Visitors to the Scab Creek Trailhead should expect log trucks and log hauling activity on the main access road.
The Scab Creek Campground may be closed for a good part of the summer. The BLM hopes to have the majority of the logging completed before hunting season in the fall.
