Laser
The little "laser" boat was the fastest, but also a lot of work and wet. It was skippered by Larry Tahl with help from Aviva Tahl, both from Jackson.

Tipped over
Dwaine Buck from Jackson skippering the "Hoby Tiger". Several of the catamarans tipped over in the strong wind, but the sailors quickly righted them and continued in the race.

Dog Sailing
It was a race, but most were just having fun on the lake, including a few dogs. Drew Kneeland from Jackson with his wife and three dogs won the two day sailing regatta.

Fremont Peak
Fremont Peak, in the Bridger Wilderness, looms over the lake as a catamaran, sailed by Jon and Jeanna Peek from Logan, Utah, crosses the finish line on Fremont Lake.

Two tipped at once
The strong winds tipped two of the catamarans at about the same time. No one was injured, but people from both boats ended up in the cold water.

Not having fun no more
7-year old passenger, Sam Lecain, made it clear he'd had enough after getting tossed into the lake when their catamaran tipped in the strong wind after going around one of the turns. A rescue boat wisked the little sailor off and John Lecain and Jon Peek righted their craft and continued in the race.

Back upright
Once Sam was off, the men quickly righted the catamaran and swiftly rejoined the race. Sam, Jon and John were all from Ogden, Utah.

Jumping to the dock
These boys had fun jumping from the breakwater rocks onto the Lakeside Lodge marina boat dock.

Fremont Catamaran
Classic view of Fremont Lake with the rugged Wind River Mountains in the background. Uncrowded Fremont Lake is approximately 11 miles long and a mile wide, offering tremendous opportunities for sailing.

Getting wet
The prepared ones dressed knowing they would probably get wet and cold. John Peek and Jon Lecain were in the water several times.

A fisherman shared the lake with the sail boats near Sandy Beach on Fremont Lake.

Catamaran
Cats require quick reflexes to stay upright in strong winds and to make the turns around the bouys. Brett Bingham from Ogden, Utah, skippered this catamaran.

Jetski
Others enjoyed jetskiing, motorboating and canoeing on the lake while the regatta races took place.

Plenty of wind on Saturday afternoon made for some interesting sailing. Jason Essingtion and crew Jed Duke and John Paravicini try to make up some time on the leaders.

11-mile long Fremont Lake, the second biggest lake in Wyoming, is a beautiful setting for sailing.
