The Rock Springs Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) plans to conduct a prescribed burn Monday, September 25, south of Pinedale. The prescribed burn will be located at Township 32, Range 109, Section 18, on the Mesa south of Pinedale.

“The burn is part of a joint project involving the Pinedale BLM and Questar. The objective of the project is to evaluate the best treatments for increasing vegetative and age-class diversity in the sage brush community,” said Greg Reser, BLM fuels specialist in Pinedale.

“The prescribed burn treatment is one of ten treatments being applied to ten separate plots. We are not planning any road closures for this burn. BLM will use specialists from the Pinedale and Rock Springs Field Offices to manage the Mesa Prescribed Burn,” Reser added.
