Attorneys evaluate Judge’s performance
by Wyoming State Bar
October 3, 2006
The Wyoming State Bar released the results of this year’s Judicial Advisory Poll, which is utilized to provide feedback to judges about their performance on the bench and to help the public make more informed judgments in judicial elections.
In the summer of 2006, the Wyoming State Bar contracted with the University of Wyoming Survey & Analysis Center (WYSAC) to conduct this year’s poll. Approximately 650 practicing attorneys participated, rating judges on several different characteristics. Attorneys were asked to only evaluate the judges before whom he/she had appeared in the past 24 months.
The results of the Poll can be found online at www.wyomingbar.org or in the October issue of the Wyoming Lawyer, which will be available towards the middle of October.
The Wyoming State Bar undertook its first judicial evaluation poll in 1976 and has completed one each election year since. The goals and uses of the poll conform to the American Bar Association guidelines as well as to the practices of other Bar associations. Any questions regarding the poll should be directed to Sharon Wilkinson, Communications Director at the Wyoming State Bar, at (307) 632-9061.
