Lamreaux Meadow Bridge replacement Oct 9
by Bridger-Teton National Forest
October 6, 2006
The Pinedale Ranger District on the Bridger-Teton National Forest will be replacing the Lamreaux Meadow Bridge located on Forest Service Road # 857 in the Big Sandy area beginning Monday, October 9th.
Construction is expected to continue through October 31st. A low-water crossing will be constructed and maintained to provide access for the contractor's construction and emergency vehicle traffic around the work area throughout the contract period.
Signs are posted on the road and bridge. Public contacts will be made hroughout the weekend prior to the bridge closure. Bridge closure will also affect access to Forest Service Road #858. Replacement of the bridge is due to public safety concerns.
"The Forest either had to close the road to motorized access or replace the bridge," stated David Booth, Pinedale Ranger District Natural Resources Specialist. "Funding to replace the bridge was not available until very late in the year. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause visitors and hunters in the area."
