(Pinedale, Wyoming) - If you are a bowhunter or want to learn more about the sport, there will be a bowhunter education course in Pinedale, Saturday, February 17 from 8 am to 5 pm at the Wind River Archers' indoor range.
The range is upstairs of the Sublette County Ice Arena in Pinedale on U.S. Highway 191 about two blocks south of Wind River Pizzeria on Pinedale's west side.
The Wind River Archers will provide lunch. Pre-registration is required but the class is free.
Class coordinator Steve Martin says a portion of the class will take place outside and students should wear comfortable footgear and dress for the weather. "We give the students an opportunity to track an animal in varying terrain so the class is more hands on," said Martin.
Bowhunter education is not required to bowhunt in Wyoming, but when offered the classes are very popular. "It teaches a lot of great skills for the beginner and experienced bowhunter alike," Martin says.
The class uses the internationally recognized curriculum of the National Bowhunter Education Program. Completion of the course satisfies the bowhunter education requirement of nearby states, including Nebraska, South Dakota, Montana, Kansas and Idaho.
For more information or to pre-register for the course, call Martin at (307) 362-2599.
