Changes at the Pinedale Recycling Center

Pinedale has many, many GREAT recyclers working together to help get materials back into useful life. In the past, all drop offs at the Pinedale center have been accepted on the east side of the building on North Bridger Avenue. That has had commercial vehicles dropping off recyclables at the same time residential folks are dropping off their materials. Many people are teaching their children to recycle, which is just super! But it isn’t safe to have folks in the building where trucks are unloading.
And as with most things in Pinedale these days, Recycling needs more room. To help use the space we have more efficiently and make a safer environment, we are changing things around a little. In the future, residential drop offs will be accepted at the north and/or west doors and the east door on North Bridger will be available for commercial drop offs.
The bin trailers are difficult for some folks to use as the latches are high and sometimes hard to open, so that will be discontinued. Boxes will be available in the addition on the north side of the building for after hours and weekend drop offs.
This will be a BIG change, and it will take time to get used to. There is still a lot of work to do to get everything in proper order. All the outside storage will have to be rearranged as well as making changes inside the building.
Pinedale Recycle Center accepts aluminum cans, clean aluminum foil and pie plates, milk jugs (preferably rinsed), plastic pop bottles, plastic grocery bags, and detergent and bleach bottles; newspapers, magazines, books, phone books, office paper and white paper with black ink; tin, clean steel and bi-metal cans; small batteries (not car batteries); empty brown paper bags and clean, flat corrugated cardboard, and, on Wednesdays from 9a.m. to 2 p.m. ONLY refrigerators and freezers that contain freon – doors MUST be removed, televisions, computers and components, and household paint. CONTAINERS MUST HAVE LIDS ON THEM.
Pinedale Recycle Center DOES NOT ACCEPT: styrofoam, pressed paper (cereal boxes, pop boxes, cracker boxes), bubble wrap, packing peanuts, or any kind of garbage. It is expensive and labor intensive to separate and bag garbage and truck it to the transfer station, so clean recyclables are really appreciated.
