Daniel, Big Piney and Marbleton

(Pinedale) - As temperatures warm around Sublette County, three road construction projects also heat up to kick off the road construction season.
The three projects were awarded to HK Contactors, Inc. of Idaho Falls, ID. on January 18, 2007 and have a completion date by contract of Oct. 15, 2007.
Daniel highway resurfacing
At Daniel Junction, on US 189, nearly four miles of highway and on US 191, just over a mile will receive an overlay for $1.3 million. The project entails removing the existing surface, or wearing course, and replacing with two inches of asphalt overlay. Other work included in the projects consists of concrete sidewalk and a widening of a small box culvert for pedestrians.
Big Piney town street reconstruction
In Big Piney, just east of US 189, North Street, Norris Street and Beach Avenue will be reconstructed with curbs, gutters, and valley pans installed. A crushed base and plant mix pavement will be applied. This project is being completed through an Authority To Render Service (ARS) program where the town is responsible for all costs associated with the work. The contract dollar amount for this portion of the project is $240,870. There will be periodic road closures, but access to all businesses will be maintained.
Marbleton Bike Path project
In Marbleton, a Bike Path project is underway along the west side of US 189, where almost two miles of path is being constructed from the northern corporate limits to the Sublette County Fairgrounds. This project is being completed through the On-System Enhancement Program where the majority of the project is funded using federal funds and a small portion from the Town of Marbleton. In this $344,163 project, an 8 foot wide bike path on the west side of US 189 is being constructed. Traffic will be controlled by a pilot car during the paving operations.
The Wyoming Department of Transportation reminds motorists to slow down, be aware, alert and cautious while driving through the construction areas.
