The family of U.S. Senator Craig Thomas released the statement below on Monday, June 4, about the condition of U.S. Senator Craig Thomas from Wyoming. The Senator is at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, receiving treatment for leukemia. _____________________________________________ The following is a statement from the family of U.S. Senator Craig Thomas: U.S. Senator Craig Thomas has been receiving treatment for leukemia at the National Naval Medical Center. Thomas, who is battling cancer, is listed in serious condition. Thomas is with his wife, Susan, and his sons Patrick and Greg, and daughter Lexie. Susan Thomas said, “At this difficult time, all we can do is give him as much love and support as possible. The support and prayers of Wyoming folks have made a tremendous difference to us. It has meant everything to Craig, and I know it helps him today.”
Doctors have been administering a second round of chemotherapy to control the disease, but the senator’s blood cancer has proven resistant to their most recent efforts and he continues to struggle with infection in addition to the leukemia.
The family wants to thank everyone for their positive wishes and prayers.
Updates regarding Senator Thomas’s health will continue as things develop.
