Fire near Pinedale, Wyoming by Bridger-Teton National Forest July 16, 2007 (Pinedale) – The Pole Fire, which started one and a half miles east of the town of Pinedale, Wyoming on Thursday, July 12 has been contained at 1044 acres. Containment means that firefighters have a fuel break around the fire. This break may include natural barriers or manually constructed fire line which is free of vegetation. Officials declared the fire controlled at 7:00pm on Sunday, July 16. Controlled fires mean that flare-ups within the fire perimeter should not break through the fuel break and firefighters should be able to keep it from spreading into new, unburned areas. |
