The Pinedale BLM invites the public to participate in public on-site visit to Questar Exploration and Production Company and Wexpro Company proposed gas well sites Thursday, Oct. 4, in the Stewart Point area.
The proposed gas wells would be located in the MA-4 Sensitive Viewshed area, as defined by the Pinedale Anticline Project Area (PAPA) Record of Decision. The six-well proposal from Questar and the two-well proposal from Wexpro would occur on expansions of two existing well drilling pads located three miles southwest of Pinedale, Wyoming.
Both well pad expansion proposals are located in Sections 18 and 20, Township 33N, Range 109 W.," said Jim Lucas, BLM Pinedale natural resource specialist. "Regarding wells proposed in MA-4, the PAPA ROD requires additional public involvement.”
Participants will meet at 10 a.m. at the BLM office, located at 1625 West Pine. Two hours have been allotted for the public to review the proposal in the field, beginning at 10:30 a.m. It is recommended that people joining the caravan to the on-site should drive or ride in high clearance vehicles, but four-wheel drive vehicles are not required. Warm clothing, sturdy footwear and sun protection are recommended.
Along with public input at the on-site visit, comments may be submitted electronically to Pinedale_WYMail@blm.gov. E-mailed comments should include "Questar/Wexpro Stewart Point Drilling Projects" in the subject line.
Comments can also be submitted through regular mail to: Jim Lucas, Natural Resource Specialist BLM Pinedale Field Office P.O. Box 768 1625 West Pine Street Pinedale, WY 82941
Written comments on these proposed wells will be accepted through October 19, 2007. When providing comments on this gas well proposal, the writer's name and address may become part of the public record. For more information, e-mail Jim Lucas at Jim_Lucas@blm.gov or call him at (307) 367-5361.
