Dude Ranch The old Bussard Ranch, in Custerville, Wyoming, is spiffed up into a lively Dude Ranch. Come to New York Danny Churchill (played by Matt Guio) tries to convince Molly (Kolby Brown) to come back with him to New York. Big Piney High School delighted the audience with the Fall
Play performance of “Girl Crazy” on November 16th and 17th.

The Western play is a comedy based on the book by Guy Bolton. Adapted by Anne Coulter Martens, Newt Mitzman and William Dalzell. From the musical comedy Girl Crazy.

Danny Churchill (played by Matt Guio) gets shipped out to the dilapidated family ranch in Wyoming because his family thinks a year out there is just what he needs. He arrives at the Bussard Ranch in Custerville, Wyoming, during the summer, in a taxi driven by Louie (played by Chase Raza). The bill is astronomical, but how else would you get from New York to Wyoming?

The caretaker, Jake, (played by Clint Beiermann) views Danny,appalled. Danny quickly proves he has ideas of his own and turns the place into a swank dude ranch and soon it is lively with eastern girls and singing cowboys.

Danny and Louie immediately find themselves in the sights of the bad guy in town, Lank (played by Pat Tolton) and his side-kick Pete (played by Shawn Kozeal), who at various times during the play try to hang Louie and shoot him. The town is in need of a sheriff, due to the untimely demise of the previous sheriff, and Louie finds himself talked into running for the position, unaware of what happened to the previous sheriff's for the town.

The play is mixed with romance as Danny becomes interested
in local girl, Molly (played by Kolby Brown), and eastern guest, Rose (played by Chelsea Cramer), sets her sights on Louie. Just when Molly starts to get interested in Danny, an old girlfriend of his from New York arrives (Tess, played by Carmen Meeks) to try and steal him back. Danny’s life is further complicated with the arrival of rival, Sam Mason (played by Kyle Butler), who tries to woo away Molly to get even with Danny for taking away Tess.

Adding to his problems, Danny discovers his wallet, which
contains his last $3,000, is missing.

Other cast members were Cactus (played by Cass Urbigkit),
Lucky (played by Steven Fischer), Janet (played by Vanessa
Denevan), Laura (played by Randi Redden), Babs (played by
Shelby Brown). Eaglerock the Indian and Lieutenant
Caddigan were played by C.J. Foster. Nikki Cates also played one of the eastern girls.

"Girl Crazy" was directed by Patty Statton with Jenna Butler assisting.

Crew was Ariel Ferrin and Brittany Sammons. Ushers were
Katie Hufstedler, Sierra Petric, Megan Johnson and Kaylib
Meeker. Stage construction was by Kaylib Meeker and Zac Bohm.
