The Pinedale Ski Education Foundation will be providing written comments to the U.S. Forest Service on the agency’s proposed action for the Fremont Lake Recreation Analysis Area. This project will address recreation management, including cross-country skiing, within the Fremont Lake area. Nearly all 17 miles of groomed nordic ski trails maintained by the Ski Foundation along Skyline Drive and at the CCC Ponds are either within or very close to the Analysis Area and may be affected by the proposed action.

We believe it is important for ski enthusiasts to have a voice in developing the future management of our winter recreation resource. The Foundation has a number of proposals on how to enhance the public’s skiing opportunities, but we also invite anyone who uses the Pinedale area nordic ski trail system to share your own ideas with us by contacting Bob Barrett at 307-367-2046 or bbinwyo@hotmail.com.

Our comments will be submitted to the Pinedale Ranger District by January 14, 2008.
