Game & Fish Habitat Area Closure Dates/Restrictions
by Wyoming Game & Fish
January 4, 2008
Big game hunting seasons are over in most hunt areas throughout the state and most Wyoming Game and Fish Department habitat areas that provide big game winter range will be closed for the winter and early spring months.
According to G&F habitat supervisor Gary Butler, seasonal closures minimize disturbance that can cause stress to wintering elk, deer, antelope and other wildlife. The closures also reduce the human and recreational impacts to the forage, which supports wintering wildlife.
