(Pinedale) - Motorists using the Fremont Lake road are advised to expect minor traffic delays as the timber bridge at Lee's Ditch is replaced this spring.
Reiman Corporation will be mobilizing their personnel and equipment beginning Jan. 22. They will be installing a portion of the precast box culvert on the upstream (north) side and diverting traffic that direction until they have enough room to remove the existing timber bridge. The new precast box culverts will be considerably wider than the existing timber bridge, however, the traveled way and shoulders will not be any wider than what is there now.
At some point during the construction, there will be a temporary traffic signal installed to handle traffic along with occasional flaggers and other traffic control measures. "I just want to get the word out that the construction will be starting soon and the public needs to be aware that there could be some minor delays. Hopefully, the contractor will have the old bridge out and the new box in by March 30," said Bob Maxam, WYDOT Resident Engineer in Pinedale. The contractor was awarded the $639,303.25 contract on Nov. 15, 2007 with a scheduled completion date of Sept. 20, 2008.
