by Senator Barrasso news release
February 9, 2008
(Washington) – U.S. Senator John Barrasso, R-Wyo., is currently accepting applications for in-state internships for summer 2008. The program, which lasts four months, is designed to give Wyoming’s youth an insider’s look into the workings of the United States government.
“This program is designed to allow students to live in Wyoming while they work in my office,” Barrasso said. “I encourage all Wyoming students interested in this unique opportunity to apply.” Interns have a wide range of responsibilities, including research, attending local events with Senator Barrasso, and other office duties.
Interns will be selected to work in Barrasso’s Casper or Rock Springs offices.
Part time positions are available and Senator Barrasso’s state offices will work out a schedule to fit around student’s classes.
Interns receive a monthly stipend and are responsible for their living expenses. The dates for the summer session are May 19th through August 14th.
Applicants are typically residents of Wyoming, in college, and are 21 years of age or older.
School credit may be obtained if university or college requirements are met.
Candidates should apply on-line. The application can be found on Senator Barrasso’s website, http://barrasso.senate.gov/public , by choosing the "Students" tab on the left and then clicking on "Intern Program.”
For more information, please contact Erin Cochran in Senator Barrasso’s office at 202-224-6441. The cut-off date for applications will be April 4th.
