EnCana contributes $256,000 to Sublette County charities

(Pinedale) - Through partnerships with local nonprofit and charitable organizations, EnCana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc. invested $256,000 last year to organizations within Sublette County as part of its commitment to leadership in the field and in the community. While EnCana funds select statewide initiatives, the vast majority of its contributions are directed to local communities where it has active operations. EnCana’s approval of 37 grant requests in Sublette County in 2007 helped fund a wide range of sustainable community initiatives including: • The new Sublette Center kitchen • Soccer fields in Big Piney • New fair ground bleachers • A Children’s Discovery Center van • A new scoreboard for the high school • Two $10,000 high school scholarships • Major corporate sponsor of the Pinedale Half Marathon • Major corporate sponsor of the Curran-Seeley Foundation program to reduce alcohol related driving incidents EnCana continually looks for community investment and creative partnership opportunities that will make a lasting difference in the communities where it operates.
