SCSD#1 School Board decides to build new K-5 Elementary School
Current campus buildings will become grades 6-12
February 14, 2008
Sublette County School District #1 School Board met on Tuesday, February 12th. Based on discussions coming out of a workshop held last Friday that included representatives from the School Facilities Committee (SFC) in Cheyenne, as well as School Board members, Long-Range Facilities Committee members, and administration, the Board decided and voted to approve the construction of a new K-5 elementary school.
The new school will most likely be located off of the current campus.
The current campus will be reconfigured to accommodate grades 6-12 and will undergo an extensive renovation over time which, if necessary, will include knocking down and replacing current structures.
The Board did not discuss what measures would be taken in the meantime to deal with immediate over-crowding issues. Also, the question of location for the new K-5 was not discussed. Thank you to Dari Quirk for this meeting update
