Ms. Sommers’ Big Piney Students Sweep 2008 State History Day
April 25, 2008
One Big Piney Middle School and four Big Piney High School students attended Wyoming State History Day on Monday, April 21, 2008 at the University of Wyoming in Laramie.
They made history. All five students placed and are going to National History Day at the University of Maryland from June 15 through June 21, 2008. Big Piney history teacher, Jonita Sommers, won the Teacher of Merit Award.

1st place – Jenny Beiermann, “The Colorado River Compact”
Individual Documentary (Senior Division)
2nd place – Katelyn Gonterman, “Compromises Leading to Conflict Among Conflict”
