Afterschool Town Meeting planned for Pinedale
June 7, 2008
A town meeting to discuss afterschool programming in Pinedale is scheduled for Thursday, June 19 at 6 p.m. at Rendezvous Pointe. Results from the focus group discussions, which were held with stakeholder groups in May will be presented. Additionally, needs, issues, and goals for the community will be prioritized and addressed.
“The intent of this forum will be to begin to develop and implement high quality programs for Pinedale’s children, youth and families,” said Linda Barton, Director of the Wyoming Afterschool Alliance, and the facilitator for the town meeting. Barton will present an overview of afterschool issues, and offer solutions from other communities and the National School Boards Association through strategies for school and community partnerships.
The town meeting will begin with a light supper at 6 p.m. followed by the presentation. Child care will be available for families. Families, friends and folks interested in the children of the Pinedale area are encouraged to attend. There is no charge for the meal or meeting.
The Sublette Community Partnership is sponsoring the Town Meeting. For more information, please contact Laurie Latta, Sublette Community Partnership at 307-367-6747 or mlatta@wyoming.com.
