Big Sandy Opening Big Sandy Creek

Big Sandy June 4 2006 Dave Bell has many years worth of photos online from the various trips he has taken in our area. Here is one that shows the wildflowers in bloom in the open fields of the Big Sandy area on June 4, 2006 (we had less snow that year).

Right now, the mountains are still getting 3-10 inches of snow in the high country, so it’s a different story up there this year. For those of you wondering what the Big Sandy area looks like, and hopefully will be like in July for the big Rainbow gathering, these photos should help give you an idea. (We have had it snow on the 4th of July in Pinedale, watching fireworks and snow the same day. The mountains can get snow any day of the year, so come prepared with clothes to layer and appropriate shoes for variable weather.)
