Another Air Health Alert issued due to smoke from wildfires

7:00 AM, Friday, August 1: Sublette County Health Officer Dr. Tom Johnston has again issued a Air Health Alert for eastern Sublette County Friday for people who have compromised lung functions to stay inside and restrict physical activity due to smoke from wildfires.
Fires are burning north of Pinedale, in Yellowstone National Park and southwest Montana. The smoky air is thickest in the eastern side of the Upper Green River Basin (Cora, Pinedale, Boulder).
Southwest winds are expected to pick up as the day progresses. Smoke is not as dense in the Big Piney and LaBarge south county area.
When the air clears, the alert is over.
The National Weather Service as issued a Red Flag Warning today for fire danger due to hot, dry conditions and increasing winds. The Warning is in effect until 8:00 PM this evening.
