Performance rights for "The Sound of Music" musical by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II have been granted to the Pinedale Community Theatre for a November 2008 production according to PCT board member Valerie Lee. "We are so pleased to have secured the license to perform this wonderful show, our next step is to hold auditions to cast the roles," Valerie stated.
Auditions and workshops for students will be held Friday and Saturday, August 8th and 9th at the Pinedale School Auditorium. Ages 4 to 10 are scheduled from 9:00 to 12:00 and ages 11 to 18 are from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on either day. Students need only attend one session of the auditions. If your child is unable to attend and interested in auditioning please contact Valerie Lee at valerielee@sopris.net or 970-618-9691. Parents must remain in the auditorium for the morning session. Children without adult supervision will not be considered.
No audition piece is needed, but familiarization with the songs My Favorite Things, Do-Re-Mi, So Long-Farwell, Lonely Goatherd, The Sound of Music and Edelweiss would be beneficial. If you have DSL or a fast internet connection please go to www.pinedaletheatre.com for links to the songs on You Tube.
The Sound of Music film is on hold at the Sublette County Library Pinedale— if rooms are available you can view the movie during Library hours.
Auditions for the adult parts will be September 26 and 27. Please go to the Pinedale Community Theatre’s website, www.pinedaletheatre.com for additional information.
