The Pinedale Town Council will have their regular meeting on Monday, August 24th at Town Hall, 5:30 PM. In addition to routine business, the Town will have the 2nd Reading of Ordinance 440, Requirement of Business License. Copies of the ordinance are available from the Town Hall and in the links below.

Editor’s Note: There was no public notice of the 1st Reading for this new business license ordinance. The second reading was advertised in the Town Council agenda schedule in the Sublette Examiner on August 21. The first time the ordinance will be printed in its entirety in the local newspaper of record for the public will be between the 2nd and 3rd final reading, if the ordinance passes the 2nd reading. Copies are available from Pinedale Town Hall. upon request. According to Patty Racich, Pinedale Town Clerk, printing the agenda in the newspaper for upcoming Town Council meetings is a courtesy, not a requirement. Because the Council’s meetings are always on the 2nd Monday of each month, it is understood that the public already has sufficient notice for these regular meetings. Printing any new ordinance as a public notice in the newspaper prior to any of the readings is not required. It must be printed after the ordinance has undergone the third reading and passes to become new law. However it is possible, and legal, for a new ordinance to go through the 1st, 2nd and 3rd readings in the Town Council meetings, and become new law, with no public notice advertisements in the local newspapers whatsoever, if the Town chooses not to do those public notices.
