Pinedale Town Council tables business licenses

The Pinedale Town Council met for their regular meeting on Monday, August 25th. One of the topics on the agenda was the second reading of the new business license ordinance.
Many local business owners came to the meeting to speak on the topic. No one spoke in favor of it. Forest Wakefield, President of the Sublette County Chamber of Commerce, asked the Council to table the vote on the second reading until the Chamber has had a time to hear back from more of their members on the topic.
The Council agreed to table the 2nd reading. They have scheduled a public workshop for Monday, September 8th at 5:30 pm to further discuss the topic with interested members of the public. "If citizens don’t want it, Council doesn’t have to do it," Mayor Stephen Smith told the audience.
