Where is all the smoke coming from today?

Near as we can tell so far, the smoke lingering over the Upper Green River Valley appears to be from the New Fork Fire north of Pinedale. According to the Pinedale Ranger District, it has been "kicking up" a bit this morning. There are no other fires burning on the Bridger-Teton National Forest.
Moderate wildland fire activity was reported throughout the western states in the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) Daily National Fire Report this morning. Eleven large fires were reported: one each in Kentucky, California, and Washington; three each in Montana and Idaho; and two in Oregon. Most of the large fire activity is in Oregon and California today. Firefighters did contain the Yolla Bolly Complex in northern California at 89,994 acres.
Fire danger is rated as Very High on the Bridger-Teton National Forest. There are no restrictions in effect for campfires (meaning yes, you can have a campfire). Please do not leave your campfire unattended and make sure it is cold to the touch before you leave it.
