View from Fish Creek Pass in June Photo taken in June 2008 on Dave Bell's hiking trip from Big Sandy to Fish Creek Pass. This picture shows what the snow conditions were in the high country of the Wind River Mountain Range in June.

A lot of people are calling and writing asking about summer hiking trips. "When will the snow be off in the mountains?" is a common question. The high mountain passes are usually passable by the 4th of July. Lower elevations free up of snow earlier.
