Heads up to residents in Pinedale who have complained to the Pinedale Town Council about frozen water and sewer lines and are hoping to negotiate some kind of compensation for repair expenses on the argument that the frozen water line problem is directly related to recent Town water and sewer line work in their neighborhood.
The Pinedale Town Council will have their regular meeting on Monday, March 23rd at 5:30 PM. At that meeting they will consider Resolution 2009-03: Addressing Phase III Sewer and Water Rehabilitation Project: Frozen Water Lines.
According to the public notice agenda printed in the March 19 Sublette Examiner, this agenda item is listed as an Ordinance. This was an error. It will be considered as a Resolution, not an Ordinance. The difference between these two is that as a Resolution, it will be discussed and voted on at Monday night’s meeting. As an ordinance, it would have to be heard as three separate readings at public meetings. Anyone who wishes to hear the discussion on this topic, or make public comment, needs to be present at Monday night’s Town Council meeting since the resident compensation/Town liability decision will be voted on at that time.
We called the Pinedale Town Hall this morning (Friday, March 20) to obtain a copy of the Resolution, but were told that the Town is still working on the percentages and a copy of the resolution won’t be available until the meeting on Monday night. That means the public will have only the time at the meeting to read the resolution and must be in attendance at the meeting to make public comment and give their thoughts on the consideration/compensation the Town proposes to residents impacted by the frozen water lines.
