Horse and Mule Packing Clinics May 16 & 17

Mountain Man Back Country Horsemen will be presenting two horse and mule packing clinics in May.
The clinics will be hands-on and stock will be provided. Presenters for the clinics will be Brad Bence and Gary Hayward with the U.S.D.A. Forest Service. The important points of packing a horse or mule for backcountry pack trips will be covered, including:
Proper saddle and tack fit
Highlining and hobbling
Preparing loads for packing
Safety tips
Variety of hitches
"Leave no trace"
Basic Packing Clinic:
Saturday, May 16, 2009 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Sullivan’s Arena, Boulder
Advanced Packing Clinic:
Sunday, May 17, 2009 1:00-5:00 p.m.
Sullivan’s Arena, Boulder
Cost:
MMBCH members: $10/day or $15/2 days
Non-members: $15/day or $25/2 days
Bring a brown bag lunch on Saturday. Drinks will be provided at no charge.
