The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service reports:

"On 7/21/09, wolves killed a yearling steer on a public grazing allotment north of Pinedale, WY.

On 7/25/09, 4 sheep were confirmed killed by wolves in the same area.

On 7/28/09, 11 sheep were killed and 1 guard dog was injured.

Seven sheep were confirmed killed by wolves on 7/30/09 and 3 sheep were killed on 7/31/09.

A total of 25 sheep have been killed and 1 guard dog was injured by wolves in the same general vicinity.

The USFWS requested Wildlife Services to remove wolves involved in the depredations. Ongoing trapping efforts are focused near the depredation sites."
