Fremont, Half Moon, Boulder still not completely frozen

For those of you wondering if any of our area lakes are frozen over enough for ice fishing, here is the latest report from the Forest Service and Lakeside Lodge as of today, Thursday, December 10.
There is a little bit of ice on Boulder Lake and some on the north end of Half Moon Lake, but neither is completely frozen over. It is questionable if the ice is strong enough to hold any weight, so we don’t recommend going out and trying it yet.
Fremont Lake still has open water and people are going out on boats and fishing. It is still possible to get out by boat on all these lakes, so that is probably the best way to get out fishing on them right now.
Dollar Lake, in the Upper Green on the way to Green River Lakes, is reported to be frozen over with about 8 inches of ice, according to the Pinedale Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest. There is snow on the road now. Some people are reportedly still driving the road to get up to the lake (4-wheel drive recommended). When/if more snow comes, access will be only by snowmobile.
Temperatures have been very cold this week, dipping to -20+ at night in places. Check back with Pinedale Online for condition updates. If anyone has additional updates on fishing conditions, please let us know (support@pinedaleonline.com)
