Dig It! A Springtime Walk, by Jackie Sea
by Sage & Snow Garden Club
April 13, 2010
Today I took a nice long walk My oxygen, walker, and me The sound I heard was bird talk But I looked and could not see Where they were busy with the task Of building a nest in the tree
As I went on a bunny hopped by And I stopped to look at her nest I counted four little babies So cozy and warm-so lest I disturb them I said goodbye And hurried on past
I walked beside the flower bed To see the littlest shoots of green Trying to push themselves out of the earth Then it was as if a dream I saw a crocus new birth Everything looked so nice and clean
I wandered on and came to a tree I peered at it closely for a sign Of the leaves that would shade me When summer comes-so divine And all the earth is new and we Will thank the Lord for his sunshine
