58th Annual National Day of Prayer May 6

The theme this year is "The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him." Nahum 1:7
The National Day of Prayer is part of America’s heritage. It predates the founding of the United States of America, evidenced by the Continental Congress’ proclamation in 177 setting aside a day of prayer. In 1952, Congress established an annual day of prayer, and in 1988 that law was amended, desiginating the National Day of Prayer as the first Thursday in May.
Americans across the land and around the world will pray for their nation, asking God’s blessing upon the church, wisdom and discernment for our elected leaders, that families will be redeemed, strength and courage for those in our Armed Forces around the world, schools with school boards, parents and teachers working together, and that the media be used to encourage life-giving principals in our society.
