by Pinedale Online!
July 29, 2010
Leading up to the August 17 primary election, the public will have an opportunity to hear position statements from local Sublette County elections and House District representative candidates in a two-night candidates’ forum in August.
Candidates in Sublette County’s biggest primary races, along with House District 20 & 22 candidates, have been invited to answer questions from the media and general public on Tuesday, August 3 and Thursday, August 5. The first forum will be in Pinedale and the second one will be in Marbleton.
Both evenings’ dialogues will air live on KPIN 101.1 FM and audio recordings will later be available online on Pinedale Online! (www.PinedaleOnline.com).
The forums are being sponsored by the Pinedale Roundup and Sublette Examiner newspapers, KPIN 101.1 FM radio, and Pinedale Online, the four local news media sources for Sublette County. Both nights will consist of a forum led by the Pinedale Roundup and Sublette Examiner, followed by questions submitted by the public. Bob Rule of KPIN Radio will moderate both evenings.
The candidates’ forum will be divided into two evening sessions. Tuesday, August 3rd, the county commissioners, sheriff, and House District 22 candidates will be at 6:00 PM in the Lovatt Room of the Sublette County Library in Pinedale.
The forum for the Sublette County Rural Health Care District Board, county attorney, and House District 20 candidates will be on Thursday, August 5, at 6:00 PM at the Marbleton Town Hall.
Casey Dean, Editor of the Pinedale Roundup, and Trey Wilkinson, Editor of the Sublette Examiner, will pose questions to the commissioner and sheriff candidates the first night. Derek Farr of the Sublette Examiner will join Casey Dean to ask questions of the Rural Health Care District and county attorney candidates on Thursday, August 5th.
Following the press portion of both evenings, written questions submitted by the general public will be read to the candidates. Short questions may either be brought to the forums or sent to forum@pinedaleonline.com prior to or during the forums. Questions will be screened for pertinence to the candidates and will conclude at 8:00 p.m.
