by Wyoming Game & Fish
April 27, 2011
The Upper Green River Basin Local Sage-Grouse Working Group will hold their next meeting from 1:30 PM-4:30 PM, Monday, May 9, 2011, at the Pinedale Game and Fish Office located at 432 East Mill Street in Pinedale.
The group will hear from Alan Pomeroy of Headwaters Weed Control, on a cheatgrass inventory being conducted in the sage-grouse core area within Sublette County during late summer 2011. Other topics will include a discussion on support for a gas field noise study and its effect on sage-grouse, potential for updating vegetation information on past treatment areas within the county and this spring’s activities involving raven nest work.
For more detailed information on the meeting contact Jennifer Hayward at 307-367-2257 x110. All local working group meetings are open to the public.
The group is one of eight local working groups that were formed across the state. The group comprises eleven local citizens representing groups interested in sage-grouse conservation. The role of the group is to develop and set in motion local conservation plans to benefit sage-grouse and, whenever feasible, other species that use sagebrush habitats.
