Dr. Edward Evenson of Lehigh University will be discussing Charles Darwin and the Origin of Tierra del Fuego's "Darwin's Boulders" at the Sublette County Library on Tuesday, June 7th at 6:30 pm in the Lovatt Room on 155 S Tyler Ave.

Although mostly known for his work with biological diversity and evolution, Charles Darwin considered himself first and foremost as a geologist. Edward Evenson of Lehigh University and his colleagues have studied Darwin's extensive geological publications about gigantic granite boulders (often called "Darwin's Boulders") found on the coast of Argentina's Tierra del Fuego. They have found Darwin's explanations of the formations to hold merit after almost 200 years. Dr. Evenson is a glacial geologist associated with the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania.
