Pinedale Nordic Ski Grooming Report, November 18
by Mike Looney, Groomer
November 18, 2011
Get your skis on! Trails at White Pine, Surveyor Park, Tree Loop, Moose Ridge, Lower Surveyor Park are all groomed – about 14 inches of packed powder snow. No classic tracks in yet. Watch for rocks - might be a good idea to use your old skis for now, otherwise be careful so as not to scrape up your good skis until we get deeper coverage.
The road is plowed to the White Pine Parking lot. No services at the lodge (White Pine is closed), however there is a new Nordic Warming Hut at the trailhead near the parking lot, which has a vaulted restroom.
Dogs permitted only on the Old Road Trail and Lower Surveyor Park trail.
There is an obstacle of stream overflow on the trail that connects the Nordic Barn to Kelly Park, under the Kelly Park parking area. You’ll ice your skis going across it, so bring a scraper or a knife to get the ice off.
Let’s go skiing!
