Fire Weather Watch
March 24, 2012
There is unseasonably warm weather across the Cowboy State. The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Fire Weather Watch for Sunday and Monday, March 25 & 26, for portions of central and southern Wyoming. The Watch includes the Upper Green River Basin foothills, Jackson Hole, Yellowstone National Park, Teton and Gros Ventre Mountains, Wind River Mountains, Salt and Wyoming Ranges, Sweetwater County and areas east of the Continental Divide.
Brief periods of gusty wind will combine with warm temperatures and low humidity to potentially raise fire weather activity.
Elevated to extreme fire weather behavior possible across the lower elevations east of the divide, as well as Sweetwater County Wednesday through Friday. Areas of very strong winds possible.
