The Harlem Ambassadors professional show basketball game is a family-friendly community fundraiser event. Since 1998, Harlem Ambassadors, Inc. has partnered with hundreds of non-profit organizations in all 50 states and 20 foreign countries to raise money for worthy causes and bring high-flying slam dunks, hilarious comedy, and fun for the whole family.
On Thursday morning, the Harlem Ambassadors traveled to Big Piney Middle School for a special assembly. It was a fun and interactive session where the Ambassadors asked questions and chose about a dozen "honorary Ambassadors" that were invited to the evening performance in Pinedale. The kids got to sit on the team bench and participate in the show.
Over 500 spectators attended the evening event, a great showing for the Thursday before spring break in Pinedale. Local businesses sponsored 105 kid’s tickets, which were given out to every elementary classroom in the county. Additional tickets were donated to Big Brothers, Big Sisters; Special Olympics; and the Public Health Nurse’s Office.
Proceeds from the show benefit the Lions Club county-wide Free Diabetes Testing Program administered by the Sublette County Public Health Nurse’s Office. For a free appointment, call 307-367-2157 in Pinedale or 307-276-3575 in Big Piney.
Referees for the game were Mike Vickrey and Ken James.
