Fontenelle Fire

The 100-acre Fontenelle Fire is burning in Lincoln County, Wyoming approximately 3-miles west of the Scaler Guard Station and 33-miles northwest of the community of LaBarge, Wyoming on the Kemmerer Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest. There are no closures or evacuations at this time. The fire is burning in heavy dead and down timber and being supressed by a crew of 8 Smoke Jumpers and a helicopter. Additional engines have been ordered. It was discovered around 4:30pm on Sunday. The cause is unknown. The column of smoke from this fire was visible from Big Piney Sunday afternoon and evening. Fire danger is currently rated HIGH on the BTNF.
